Soccer star Kei Kamara may be delayed due to contract negotiation

Many Illinois residents enjoy following major league soccer competitions, and likely, most know who MVP finalist Kei Kamara is. Some may be surprised to learn, however, that Kamara did not join his team mates when training camp for the upcoming season opened on a recent Saturday. Some say the athlete's delay is connected to a request for a new contract negotiation.

Apparently, Kamara was the third highest paid player in the club in 2015. Two others, both from Argentina, reportedly made more than he did, one earning more than $1 million, the other just $100,000 more than Kamara's half a million, plus. Insiders claim that the soccer star has been ordered to join his team at training camp or face substantial monetary fines.

A spokesman for Kamara's team, the Columbus Crew, stated that he was given special permission to take time off in Ohio after having visited his native homeland for the first time in several years. His coach is said to have told reporters that he is currently working on fitness. The season opener is scheduled to take place in March 2016.

Illinois soccer fans will undoubtedly want to follow the reports surrounding the possible contract negotiation regarding Kamara's pay scale. Many will be watching to see if he shows up at training camp. If he or any other paid athlete facing legal challenges surrounding a contract feels the need, it is possible to obtain legal representation in such circumstances in order to allow an experienced business and commercial law attorney to act on one's behalf.
